A unique sign on the front wall of The Halfway House depicts the origins of the name, placing the Inn halfway between Taunton and Exeter, Bristol and Plymouth, London and Penzance and Bridgwater and Exmouth.
Situated on the outskirts of Willand approximately two miles from the market town of Cullompton and midway between junctions 27 & 28 of the M5, many cyclists also use the pub as the popular mid Devon cycle path passes the front door en route to Tiverton Parkway station and beyond.
Personally run by Sue and Andrew Trevelyan the Inn has developed a reputation for good food, locally sourced where possible, full menu and selection of specials including fresh fish served lunchtimes and evenings daily and all day on Sunday including a renowned carvery and a large selection of home made desserts.
The pub offers a comfortable lounge bar/restaurant together with the popular locals bar with sky TV and traditional pub games, there is also a skittle alley used regularly by the pubs own teams and available for private hire. There is also a pleasant enclosed garden at the rear with easy access from within the pub or directly from the car park.
